Mirboo North District Community Forundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors broadly drawn from the Mirboo North district.


Paul Pratt

Paul is a solicitor, practising in civil litigation, who qualified at the University College London, migrated to Australia in 1988 and was admitted as a solicitor in Victoria in 1995.

Paul has been extensively engaged as a committee/board member in many community organisations in the Mirboo North district for many years. His extensive involvement includes Mirboo North Primary School, Chair School Chaplaincy Committee, SCOPE Adult Education, President Mirboo North Junior Football Club, Team Manager Mirboo North Netball Club, Parish Councillor St Mary’s Anglican Church, Mirboo North Community Association and Mirboo North Aged and Community Care.

Paul’s legal and governance skills and record of enthusiasm for serving the community have, and will continue to be, of major benefit to the Foundation and the community.

Robert Kiddell
Vice Chair

Robert is a local CFPR, lawyer, notary and company director who has wide community and professional interests.  He is a former shire councillor, a Life Member of Apex, he was the inaugural president of the Mirboo Community Association, a former Secretary of the Gippsland Law Association and a Fellow of the Gippsland Community Leadership Program.  His current extra curricula activities include:

  • Squadron Leader in the RAAF Specialist Reserve;
  • Mirboo North Cemetery Trust;
  • Chairperson Mirboo North Uniting Church Council;
  • Trustee Latrobe Regional Gallery Foundation;
  • Mirboo North Schools Chaplaincy Committee and
  • Chair, Mirboo North Community Shed

Robert’s dedication and service to the district community have brought enormous benefit to the community and his wealth of experince and expertise in the legal and financial world are invaluable to the Foundation.


Kate Buxton

Born in the UK, Kate graduated from the London School of Economics in 1987. Before migrating to Australia she worked at a senior level in the British television and advertising industry in roles such as General Manager of the award winning ‘independent’ Clark Production and Head of Production of the successful commercial production company Space City.

Kate has a strong commitment to the not-for-profit sector, and as a former GM of Lifeline Gippsland she worked to improve mental health outcomes for Gippslanders. She is an active member of the Mirboo North community having been an organiser of the Mirboo North Art Show and is a former member of the Primary School Council and Secretary of the Junior Football Club. Kate is currently General Manager for design & communications agency tommy gun.





Walter Aich

Walter is from the very active and enterprising community of Dumbalk and joined the Board in March 2014. Walter has an extensive background in education with a Bachelor of Science Education and a post graduate Bachelor of Education. After more than 20 years as a secondary science and maths teacher he moved to hold senior positions with the Gippsland Regional Council of Adult, Community & Further Education (ACFE Gippsland) within the Departments of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) and Planning and Community Development (DPCD).

He has been very active with a number of community organisations and events; holding the position of Group Officer in the South Gippsland Group of CFA Brigades and a member of the Dumbalk & Districts Progress Association. Previously Walter held a number of community roles including; Chairperson of the South Gippsland Relay for Life Committee and Captain Dumbalk Rural Fire Brigade.


Ned Dennis

Ned is the Community Strengthening Coordinator at South Gippsland Shire and is a well-known personality in the district. Ned has over a number of years provided extensive service and benefits to many communities in South Gippsland. He serves on many Community organisations in the district. Ned has recently been very actively engaged as the Chairman of the Mirboo North and District Bushfire Recovery Committee. His extensive community service experience and contacts will be of considerable benefit to the Foundation.


Grant Irving

Grant is a long standing resident and well known accountant in the Mirboo North district. He was active as the accountant for the Mirboo North Aged Care facility over many years. His wealth of financial and regulatory experience is a major asset to the Foundation.

Wendy Major

We are delighted to announce that Wendy Major joined the Board in May 2013. Wendy was an independent volunteer team member of the 2012 Foundations Community Grants program leading to her joining the Board.

Wendy moved to Mirboo North from Bairnsdale, around three years ago and immediately became involved in the Mirboo North community. She is currently the Executive Officer of the South Gippsland Bass Coast Local Learning and Employment Network (LLEN) which puts her in a great position to understand the needs of youth in education and employment.

Wendy has extensive experience in serving on a number of Community organisations Boards and we look forward to her making a valuable contribution to the Mirboo North community.

Diana Mueller

Diana is with the Department of Education and Training (DET) and has lived and taught in the Mirboo North district for many years, currently living on a farm in Allambee South.

Diana has worked at the Regional Office for over 5 years, taught for more than 20 years and has a wide range experience in the Education sector. Diana is active in a number of community organisations including the Allambee South Community Centre, Mirboo North Football Netball Club and the Mirboo North Community Energy Hub.

Her knowledge and practical experience in the Education field is invaluable to the Mirboo North & District Foundation and the community to strengthen the Foundation’s focus on Youth.

   Kate Reiske Canva  

Kate Reiske

Kate Reiske, the newest member of the Board of the Community Foundation, is a long-time resident of Boolarra, currently employed by Latrobe City Council as Team Leader in Asset Strategy. Kate has a degree in Politics and over 18 years’ experience in project and asset management, policy development and grant making, in both the local government and private sectors.

Kate has also been involved for many years as a volunteer in her community. She has been a voluntary member of a number of community boards and has actively contributed to the growth of the Boolarra Folk Festival, the Boolarra Link, sporting clubs and early learning centers in the district. Kate is currently convenor of the Gippsland Regional Asset Management Committee and the Gippsland Regional Roads Working Group.
