Education Grants Open for 2027

Students of all ages from the Mirboo North district who are planning to commence tertiary studies in 2027 are encouraged to apply for an Education Support Award through the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation. Applications are now open and will close on 22 November 2026.

Helping with the Cost of Tertiary Education

Whether you’re finishing secondary school, returning to study after time in the workforce, or taking the next step in your career through TAFE or university, the Community Foundation’s Education Support Program is designed to help ease the financial burden of further education.

Starting tertiary education is an exciting milestone, but it also comes with significant upfront costs,” said Heather Farley, Director of the Community Foundation. “Course fees, textbooks, equipment, laptops, transport and accommodation can quickly add up. Our Education Support Awards help local students focus on their studies rather than worrying about how they’ll afford to get started.”

Investing in Local Students

Since the program began in 2013, more than $300,000 in education support awards has gone to more than 125 local students, helping people of all ages pursue university, TAFE and other recognised post-secondary qualifications.

The Community Foundation is also delighted to continue its partnership with the Community Bank Mirboo North & District, which has been sponsoring Education Support Awards since 2022.

Our long-term commitment to the Education Support Program reflects our belief that investing in local people strengthens our whole community,” said Anne Marie Dieperink, Executive Officer of Community Bank Mirboo North & District. “To date, the Community Bank has committed $93,000 to sponsor education awards, helping local students continue their studies with confidence.”

The Education Support Program is open to eligible students from across the Mirboo North district, regardless of age or study pathway. If you’re planning to study in 2027, now is the time to apply.

For eligibility information and application forms, visit the Mirboo North & District Community Foundation website. We encourage all eligible students to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to invest in their future.
