Community Foundation Supports 8 Projects in 2012

The 2012 grants have increased by over 50% from 2011, to $77,347, with a 100% increase in the maximum individual grant available to $20,000, which has enabled grant seekers to initiate longer term more strategic projects. Applications were received for over $150,000, which indicates the continuing need of the community for funding and grants in these tough economic times. Since our formation in January 2010, the Foundation has committed $216,000 to community grants and bushfires appeal funds.

Successful applicants include:

  1. Mirboo North Primary School – $13,600. Healthy Kids, Healthy Community
  2. Dumbalk Hall Committee – $5,000. Update of Hall Kitchen
  3. South Coast Primary Care Partnership (PCP) – $18,214. Debunking Mental Health
  4. Narracan Primary School – $8,688. Community Pizza Oven and Kitchen Garden
  5. Mirboo North Energy Hub – $20,000.
  6. Community Music Victoria – $5,060. Fiddlehead Festival, Yinnar
  7. Mirboo North Community Shed – $1,785. Health and Wellbeing Program
  8. Boolarra and District Youth Theatre Company – $5,000. Trinominal Theatre
