The Mirboo North Pharmacy Fund was set up in the Community Foundation at the beginning of this year. This fund holds the $10,000 donation, which the Mirboo North Pharmacy won at the end of 2022, for being the Arrotex Community Pharmacy of the Year

This donation has had a big impact in our community,” explains Ruth Rogan, Executive Officer.  “Grants of $1,000 were made to six local community organisations in May, including the Mirboo North Early Learning Centre, BooFIIT U3A Mirboo North, Equip Church’s Hope N Help food program, the Wednesday Warriors and the Mirboo North Community garden group.”

Community Foundation’s Impact: Supporting Local Organizations

In addition, the 10 Mirboo North Pharmacy Fund first aid kits were distributed to local community and sporting groups.
One such group was the Mirboo North Chaplaincy group, who bring it with them to each BBQ and event that they run.

To complete the distribution of the $10,000 donation, after discussion with the Mirboo North Pharmacy team, the Community Foundation is offering 10 more first aid kits to local community groups.

Safety First: The Vital Role of First Aid Kits

First Aid Kits are very important resources in the community,” says Tamara Teylor, Mirboo North Pharmacy. “We recommended that the use of the remaining funds go into more first aid kits as it enables community organisations and makes sure that they all have the materials to hand to reduce the severity of an injury and prevent infection when the unexpected happens.”

Nominate Your Group and Ensure Preparedness

The distribution of these first aid kits will bring the total number of first aid kits distributed to 20 community groups.  These will be on hand to provide first aid to a significant number of people within our community.

In order to nominate a community organisation for a First Aid Kit, please email info@mirboodistrictfoundation.org.au after filling out the online form here, or you can call into the Mirboo North Pharmacy and complete a hard copy nomination form.
Applications must be received by Tuesday 14th November.
