Vital Signs Report Offers fresh insight into our Communities

Four towns, four reports — one shared picture of community life

The Mirboo North & District Community Foundation and Community Bank, Mirboo North & District has just completed the second Mirboo North & District Vital Signs Report.  Based on publicly available data, this collaboratively developed report provides an update from the original 2020 report.   It offers a fresh snapshot of how our local communities are tracking across key areas that shape our quality of life, including health, the economy, education, the environment and belonging.

Rather than producing a single district-wide report, the Mirboo North & District Vital Signs Report is made up of four individual community reports: one each for Boolarra, Thorpdale, Yinnar and Mirboo North.

While our rural district has much in common, we recognised that each community sits within a different local government area,” explained Ruth Rogan from the Community Foundation.  “This not only changes the data but is relevant to the way in which we might address the challenges or seize the opportunities. Creating separate reports ensures that each town has relevant, meaningful information that reflects its own context and character.”

Using local data to shape conversations about our future

A formal launch of the Mirboo North & District Vital Signs Report was held on Monday 15th December at 2pm at Lamezleighs Coffee House in Mirboo North.

We are very pleased to present this updated Vital Signs Report to our communities and look forward to the discussions about how we can use this information,” says Anne Marie Dieperink of the Community Bank.  “Everyone is warmly invited to join us for the launch at Lamezleighs to kick off that discussion over coffee and cake.”

If you are interested in how the communities in our district are faring, come and get your copy of the Mirboo North & District Vital Signs Report and have a conversation about what the findings mean for our future—our opportunities, our challenges and the steps we might take together.
