Apply for the 2020 Community Grants Program throughout September.

Has isolation stimulated your thoughts on how to strengthen your community, build capacity or help us reconnect with each other?  If so, an opportunity awaits your community organisation.

“Even during these challenging times, here at the Community Foundation we are interested in supporting projects that strengthen community or your community organisation, as well as ideas that concentrate on building capacity in our district,” said Ruth Rogan, Executive Officer of the Community Foundation.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Community Grants Program applications are open for the whole month of September. Throughout these past ten years, the Community Foundation has granted more than $1.4 million to over 70 different community or not-for-profit organisations locally. These community grants assist community groups with additional capital for major projects, opportunities to learn new skills and accessing resources.

“This year we are also aware that many community organisations have not been meeting and are even taking a break. This might not be right time for your organisation to plan new projects and source funding. However, you won’t lose out – community grant support will be available to you when you are ready. If and when you are ready to kick off again, you can apply to the Community Foundation for an Out of Round grant in your own time,” explained Ruth.

Don’t be put off by the process; the Community Foundation will help you navigate your way through your application. Even though the Co-Space is currently closed you can get in touch by phone on 0418 301 092, by emailing ruth.rogan@mirboodistrictfoundation.org.au or by Facebook (@mirboodistrictfoundation).

The Community Foundation has supported many positive projects such as school mental health & well being programs, community access arts workshops, art mural restoration, all-ability playground equipment and community gardens projects.

The 2020 Grant Guidelines and Grant Application Form will be available on the Community Foundation’s website from 1st September 2020.  All applications close on 30th September 2020.
