Celebration for Mirboo North’s Girls Own Space initiative.

South Gippsland Shire brought Girls Owns Space to Mirboo North at the end of last year, running through to March when it was held up by the pandemic. With the design and planning completed in March, the construction phase was then completed in mid-November, when volunteers and participants came together to prepare and oil the reclaimed slabs of Cyprus and lift the slabs into their correct place on the various concrete plinths around the courtyard.

2020 Community Grant’s Awards Announced

The Community Foundation announced the recipients of the 9 successful community grants for 2020, which will be distributed to the successful community groups around the local district.

Boo FIIT’s membership rises in 2020.

Boo FIIT is a fitness timetable providing affordable access to fitness and wellbeing classes within the community, it was originally set up in 2019 and has grown to include many different classes. There are varying fitness levels and sessions were tailored to suit the participant’s abilities.

The Mirboo North and District Community Foundation’s 2020 Community Grants Program is open for applications from September 1-30. These community grants assist community groups with additional capital for major projects, opportunities to learn new skills and accessing resources.
