Bruhn Family Fund supporting Education

The Bruhn Family Fund supported awards for six students during the end-of-year graduation ceremony at Mirboo North Secondary College last December.
Two awards recognised students in the Vocational Major program, with four further awards presented to students who upheld the school values of Respect, Pride and Trust.

Recognising effort, values and vocational pathways

For more than ten years, earnings from the Bruhn Family Fund have supported education through encouragement and recognition of students, particularly in vocational pathways. The fund was established in 2013 following a generous bequest of $25,000 from Bob Bruhn, who chose to benefit his community in two lasting ways.

Half of the gift supported the re-development of the Mirboo North Swimming Pool, helping Friends of the Pool reach their major fundraising goal in 2019. The remaining half was set aside as a perpetual fund to support education at Mirboo North Secondary College. To date, $6,900 has been granted to the school, with the fund now valued at more than $13,000.

A family legacy supporting local education

Congratulations to Lucas Grange (Dux VCE Vocational Major), Ethan McGregor (VM Work Related Skills Award), and Callum Campbell, Jeremy Plowman, Jade Jackson and Locky Mikaelian for demonstrating the school values of Respect, Pride and Trust.
